One of my absolute favorites strollers from the ABC Show in September, the Promenade is now available for purchase and is just AMAZING. Its obviously a close competitor of the baby Jogger City Select, but here is why I like it more:
1. Better quality in every way. Especially in seat fabrics, my biggest issue with the BJCS.
2. The ability for each seat to be a bassinet. You all know I am BIG on bassinets, they are just so much better for babies than being stuck in a car seat or even laying flat with their legs up in the air.
3. I am not a huge fan of how the BJCS looks in single mode. I don’t think the Promenade has that issue.
Its $849 for the single and then $999 for the double. Pricey, yes. But worth it, especially when you think that its $700 LESS than the Donkey in the same configuration (two bassinets).
I can’t wait to start seeing these around towns.
I love Phil and Ted’s strollers but have always been confused by where to keep the diaper bag when the stroller is being used as a double. Seems like if you hung it on the handlebar (like with many strollers) the child that sits in the bottom seat would keep getting hit on the head. Any idea if this is an issue with the Promenade? The handle bar looks a bit longer like you might be able to get away with hanging a diaper bag – but can you really?

Thank you!! It’s so nice to see someone reminding people not to stuff their infants in car seats for hours every day. A baby sleeping in a bassinet or lay-flat stroller looks so happy. Both my children have had proper bassinet strollers (Silver Cross, Baby Jogger, Phil & Ted’s, Quinny) and they always attract lots of compliments. I try and gently remind our friends with children that car seats are for in the car, not the mall…
I am disappointed in the limited configuration options; I know my 2 year old will hate sitting in the lower position and having to look right into the bottom of another seat.. Not having an option for the kids to face each other leaves me still stuck between the City Select and Donkey Duo and can’t decide.
I’m desperately trying to find one in South Australia so i can test drive one but nooen stocks them!
I tried one out at Baby Junction, St Morris – loved it.
