BUGABOO Australia (and now America) announce official recall of Bugaboo Bee+ wheels….

http://www.recalls.gov.au/content/index.phtml/itemId/1007083

Which leads us here in the USA to wonder “Why not HERE?!?!?!?!” They have all come from the same factories, they all have the same issue, and its a little irritating to see this quote:

“The front wheels may suddenly lock up whilst the stroller is in motion, causing the stroller to topple. This can result in fall-related bruising and lacerations to the stroller occupant.”

while Bugaboo USA is still assuring us that its totally safe and poses no risks at all.

Bugaboo fail.

If you are in Australia, please follow the directions above to get your Bee+ wheels replaced.

UPDATED OCTOBER 5th, 2011: Bugaboo have updated their website with the following information, including updated information about the safety issues. I am very happy to learn that Bugaboo USA seems to be taking this seriously.

Bugaboo Recall for Graco Car Seat Adapters and Wheeled Boards…

Bugaboo is recalling their Graco Car Seat Adapters and Wheeled Board (the newer ‘white wheel’ universal board, not the older all black wheel version) due to a child being injured.

When the wheeled board is pinned up, it can prevent the car seat from clipping into place on the adapter (when front facing only…)

The “Bugaboo Car Seat Adapter” Item #80401GC02 and #80400GC01 as well as the “Bugaboo Wheeled Board” #85500WB01 are the only two items being recalled.

Contact Bugaboo for a Warning Label Kit breaking this all down even more Barney Style for you. Call Bugaboo North America at 1-800-460-2922 toll free between 9AM and 5PM CT Monday through Friday, or by emailing them at service.us@bugaboo.com
